THE Cook4Madiba cook-off was hosted by Help A Child Grow and The Johannesburg Culinary & Pastry School.

Their aim is to support Kgotso Crèche in Katlehong and Mighty Kids Centre home for children in Malvern. Both need funds for their daily running.

Held on July 16, special guests from the public were invited to participate in the spirit of Madiba Month. It was a good way for them to help those in need and show off their culinary or professional cooking skills, while engaging in healthy competition for a great cause.

This was a fun-filled event, with surprises during the cook-off. Participants were asked halfway through to swap and finish a competitor’s dish, despite the fact that they did not know what was in the mystery basket before cooking.

Proceeds of the event will sent to the beneficiaries.
