The Freeme Wildlife rehabilitation centre closes its doors

The Freeme wildlife rehabilitation centre has been closed down (on a temporary basis) by NSPCA and Nature conservation.

This temporary closure means that Wildlife in Crisis is the only other fully permitted rehabilitation centre in Gauteng that is able to deal with all indigenous and endangered species.

Wildlife in Crisis is in dire need of goods and help to expand their facilities to cope with the influx of indigenous wildlife being taken to the rehab, not only by Freeme, but also by Nature Conservation, NSPCA, SPCA, Vets and the public.

The injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife that are taken in are, where possible, rehabilitated and returned to their natural habitat.

The physical work that needs to be done is far from glamorous, but is critical to the functioning of the rehab to ensure every soul that comes in for care, has the best chance of survival and release.
