Katlehong Local Football Association mourns the death of its chairperson

Makhalima was born on December 20, 1964, and passed away on September 10, 2022.

The Katlehong Local Football Association (Kalfa) and Makhalima family are mourning the passing of Kalfa chairperson Bassie Makhalima on September 10.

He was admitted to Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital in Soweto two weeks ago after experiencing kidney failures.
Makhalima was born on December 20, 1964.

The chairperson of Kathorus Masters Legends and finance officer of Kalfa, Josiah Cindi described Makhalima as an honest and knowledgeable leader.

“We lost a leader who was accepted and welcomed by everybody, it can be left or right or it can be an enemy, he was well received because of his honesty and knowledge.

“He had the capacity of knowledge to lead football. We are challenged to lift the spade up from where he left it. He was an exceptional person who led this organisation to its best.

“We are devastated but we know his principles and his rules. We will try to be strong and to keep up the work he has done so that we do not disappoint his spirit.”

His memorial service will be held on September 16 at 388 Skhosana Section, Katlehong at 16:00.
