Jackie Els, Michelle Terblanche and their captain, Liezel Potgieter, collectively known as Triple Threat, showed their rivals Flaming Qs how it’s done in an intense pool final showdown at 8’s Pool and Sports Bar in Witfield on Monday evening, August 5.

Flaming Qs consists of Angelique Graham, Jordan Bird and their captain, Sonja Spies.

The two teams found themselves on a collision course for the Eastern Gauteng Ladies Pool League trophy honours after emerging as the two winners from the semi-final round a fortnight ago.

Elsewhere, Three of a Kind squared off against Purple Monkeys for the plate, a prize secondary to the trophy.

Both teams also qualified for Monday evening’s final round from the semi-finals. Purple Monkeys emerged the victors.

The night was the culmination of the play-offs for the ladies’ league. League games are played on Mondays throughout the year. There are two seasons in a year. The second season kicked off on August 12.

Play-off teams are determined by their stats they accumulated in a season. The first four teams go into the main play-off event, which begins with the semi-final round, and the next four teams go into the plate event.
