The event was supposed to take place on Friday night, but because of bad weather conditions, it was postponed to the following night.

Isaac Phele, Vosloorus Cricket Club junior coach, said only teams that form part of the Eastern Cricket League took part.
“The purpose of the event was to keep the spirit of cricket alive since the season has come to an end. We just want to keep our young cricket players busy and focused during the off-season,” said Phele.
Each game was played over 30 minutes and then rotated.
Vosloorus Cricket Club played against a team from Duduza and won the game by two wickets.

Phele said the event was a success since they fulfilled the purpose.
“What I liked the most about the event is that the children enjoyed themselves. We managed to keep them busy and off the streets.”
