AFCKO attends police karate tourney

Shihan Thulani Sibisi, the president of African Full Contact Karate Organisation (AFCKO), attended the 2018 South African Police Service Martial Arts Full Contact Tournament to stand in solidarity with those against the rise of cop killings.

Western Province hosted the national 2018 South African Police Service Martial Arts Full Contact Tournament at Langebaan on October 10.

African Full Contact Karate Organisation (AFCKO) was also invited.

Shihan Thulani Sibisi the president of AFCKO from Katlehong attended the event.

Shihan Sibisi said this was their way as AFCKO to show their support for “the men and women in blue”, and to express solidarity in their fight against crime, and to express disapproval for the way the police get killed.

“We are against the killing of our police.

“As AFCKO we strongly believe they play an important role in keeping our community safe.

“As members of the community we need to protect them as they also protect us,” said Sibisi.

He added: “I would like to thank them for hosting such a successful tournament.”

The tournament included the following sports codes: full contact, semi contact, kick-boxing and judo.

AFCKO selected 11 students to represent the team.

Each team brought ten participants of three females and seven males working under the rules of SAPS Martial Art.
