Jomo Cosmos fans celebrated as Ezenkosi won their third National First Division (NFD) league game in a row at the Vosloorus Stadium on October 7.

Ezenkosi defeated the 10-men Cape Umoya United 1-0 to extend their unbeaten run to six matches, and moving to the top five of the log standing.

Before the United clash, Ezenkosi beat Maccabi FC on September 17 and Richards Bay FC on September 23. The score on both occasions was 1-0. Sicelo Hlatshwayo scored the winning goal 26 minutes into the game.

Sizah Bukhali, Ezenkosi number one supporter, said their team was on the right track.

“At the beginning of the season, we were not playing well because most the players in the squad were new. But after a few games, they began to gel. Now they are playing a good attacking and offensive football. Bukhali said this was unlike in the past when the team played defensively.

“It is good to see players playing such a good blend of football,” said Bukhali.

Bukhali believes Cosmos is the strongest team in the NFD this season.

Bukhali pleaded with Ezenkosi fans to support the team in their numbers to give players morale support

“From what I can see, our team will gain a straight promotion to the Professional Soccer League (PSL) after this season. All we need is to score more goals and make sure we concede few so that we move up the log table,” Bukhali said.

The win against United saw Ezenkosi perched on the fifth spot, two points behind log leaders, TS Sporting.

Cosmos are due to host the University of Pretoria on October 28 after the Fifa international break.
