Luso Africa Football Club celebrated yet another home win in the Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League, on Saturday.

The club, who are top of the log, four points above Randburg Football Club, played host to Sporting Football Club at their home grounds, Hattingh Park.

The first teams took to the field, in what was a must-win match for Luso if they hoped to maintain their log lead, and quickly it became clear that the home team was in charge.

The team’s early dominance in the match was rewarded with a goal by Fulvio Pereira.

This goal seemed to egg the team on and they continued to dominate play pushing hard despite a number of fouls from Sporting on the Luso players.

Sporting, determined not to go down without a fight, soon sneaked the ball past Luso’s goalkeeper, during a late penalty shot, however, this was soon counteracted when the visiting team fumbled and scored an own goal, restoring Luso’s four-goal lead.
