Academy owner impressed with results

Katlehong Hyper Academy hosted Mamelodi Sundowns Development on July 30.

Four Katlehong Hyper Academy teams – including u-13, u-15, u-17 and u-19 played their 11th game of the league against one of the top teams in the PSL in a fully packed Huntersfield Stadium.

After the games, Nathi Zwane, the chairman of the academy, said the games will help his teams to develop.

“We didn’t come to these games expecting to walk all over Sundowns but we wanted to use them to match our standards. The results have shown that we are not far behind them,” said Zwane.

He said the boys are excited about playing against the top teams in the PSL.

“It shows that our boys are well developed. We matched them in every aspect of the game,” said Zwane.

He thanked Kathorus MAIL on announcing the Katlehong Hyper Academy trials.

“Many players came in for trials and we selected five players per division. Some of them played today .

“What upsets me the most is that none of the local players pitched for trials as most of the players were from Heidelberg, Daveyton, Soweto and Orange Farm,” he said.

He pleaded with local players to make good use of the opportunity next time they hold trials.

The results are as follows: Katlehong Hyper Academy u-13 won 2-1, u-15 lost 0-2, u-17 won 5-2 while u-19 lost 1-5.
