AFCKO annual winter holiday karate programme held

African Full Contact Karate Organization (AFCKO) annual winter school holiday programme called AFCKO Annual Boot Camp was held in Heidelberg.

The camp started on July 3 until July 9.

About nine karate schools from all over the province including Abram Hlophe, Nirvana, Mpontsheng, Phumelela, Orange Farm, Zamdela, Sebokeng, Thokoza and Vosloorus Dojos attended the camp.

About 65 students in total attended the camp.

Shihan Thulane Sibisi of Katlehong Dojo said the objective of the camp was to keep the youth in the sports activities during school holidays.

“With this one week programme we were also aiming at selecting karate students that will represent South Africa in Sokyokushinkai Karate Tournament in Harare on July 22,” said Sibisi.

He said International Kyokushinkai Karate Federation black belt grading took place at the camp on July 8.

The following karatekas graduated and got their first black belts: Solly Leboho, Koena Mokgehle, Ntombifuthi Mgaga, Sipho Moyendeki, Thabiso Mosebi, Moffat Senyatsi and Tlhalefo Mkokota.

Bongani Tsotetsi, Mabati Makwela, and Molefi Moloto were awarded their second black belts.

Katleho Hlatshwayo got his third black belt whereas Mandla Ndlela and Muzi Zulu got their fourth black belts.
