Purposeful living gives your life meaning

Ask yourself meaningful questions that will help you to succeed in life.

When constructing a house or any building, a detailed house plan should be completed before any physical construction can take place. This is what is called the blueprint or house plan.

This is like living a purposeful life, you must first have the end in mind. You need to be clear in your mind as to what exactly you are constructing before huge investments in time, energy, and money.

I have the five questions that I’ve used for several years and continue to use to this day. These questions help clarify your thinking, ground you and guide your actions and behaviour.

These questions are as follows:

• What are the achievements that I want to be remembered for?

• What are the memories that I want people to have for me?

• What do I want people to remember as my core values, that guided me through my career and my life?

• What do I want people to remember as my greatest passions, the focus of my life’s work?

• What stories do I want people to tell about me?

These questions have really helped me in formulating and guiding my thoughts and actions especially given that we only have a limited amount of time on this planet. This means that the sooner you start working on these questions, the better.

Many people, for the lack of these guiding life questions, end up chasing things that don’t really matter much in the bigger scheme of things. Human beings are bestowed with so much intelligence and brain power than any other species that ever existed.

We can imagine and lay down a detailed plan of how we want things to look in the future and no other species can do that. As a NeuroEngineer, I’m here to help you connect with your purposeful living.
