For obvious reasons, the reader requested her identity be withheld. The MAIL has decided to highlight her problem with the hope that the alleged guilty family will perhaps read this comment and mend the situation.
The letter reads as follows:
Dear Mr Editor,
Please allow me space in your newspaper to tell my story with the hope that it will also open the eyes of other families who find themselves in a similar situation with their neighbours.
I live in Vosloorus and my story is about a family I have been treating as family friends because of our once excellent neighbourly relationship which dates back many years. I trusted them and believed they were true and honest friends to my family.
I was, however, deeply disappointed recently when I found out my neighbour was actually enticing my husband and destroying my marriage behind my back. I was utterly flabbergasted and shocked.
For many years I’ve been helping them with whatever little I could afford and hardly noticed what was happening while I continued to laugh and share with people I thought I was bonded to by love and mutual respect.
When I found out was happening, I was so shocked that people I had trusted with my life and treated as close family friends were actually grooming their daughter to be a girlfriend to my husband.
Without blinking, they bluntly told me they were waiting for this day to come! For this, I wish to expose their evil plans so I can warn other unsuspecting happily married couples out there that there are households that think nothing of destroying other families for money.
It baffles me that this family was prepared to prostitute their young daughter to my husband in order to get money in exchange for sex and financial favours.
I’ve tried all avenues to have this matter resolved with my neighbour, but in vain. Publishing my story may not only help me alone, but could also help my rival family and many other married couples who are faced with a similar situation.
As a self-respecting married woman and a mother to my own and other children in my neighbourhood, I believe it is important to expose such activities to the public so as to make the public aware of the evil that lurks around their families.
Any parent who is willing to prostitute their own daughter for money will stop at nothing to sell their neighbour’s child to human traffickers and drug peddlers for money.
I wish to put it on record that there are families out there who prostitute their daughters to married men for sex in exchange for material favours. My aim is to expose them for encouraging this evil practice which often leads to broken homes and broken families, with children traumatised.
I believe my husband supports them and that’s why they allowed this to happen.
