This is the time of the year whereby each worker wants to come home with enough money to spend for his/her family during the Christmas holidays.
This is also the time when most black workers start to save for the Christmas holidays and start buying clothing for our children and some of us cannot save enough money during the year due to the mediocre salaries most of us earn.
If now at this time of the year Numsa and Ccasa members will not be going to work, and with no work and no pay principle to apply, come payday and Christmas holidays, who will suffer more?
Two wrongs can’t make a right. It’s also wrong for the SAA to offer its workers a mere 5.9 per cent increase with the cost of living at its highest rate, but it is also wrong for the unions to embark on industrial action.
