Drugs and alcohol are our enemies

Drugs and alcohol is the two-fold problem South Africa is facing at the moment.

Only a blind person is unable to link the rampant increase in poverty, crime and joblessness in the townships with drugs and alcohol.

People who are addicted to these two major anti-social habits find it hard to save money and hold down steady jobs.

For as long as we, as a nation, pretend that drugs such as cigarettes and alcohol are less evil than cocaine, nyaope and dagga, we will continue to see the youth increasingly use alcohol and cigarettes.

We should brand the use of all of these drugs illegal because of their negative impact on people’s health.
