Katlehong SAPS station welcomes new CPF executive

The acting station commander of police, Colonel Piet Erasmus, has officially welcomed into office the newly elected CPF executive.

The new office members were handed their reflector jackets and caps as part of their operation uniform when on duty and during engagements with community members.

Officiating at the ceremony, the provincial and district CPF office head, Pearl Manqele, introduced the newly elected CPF Exco to all four sector managers, including the Social Crime Prevention co-ordinator responsible for all the sectors.

Manqele outlined what the public can expect from the new CPF exco and undertook to make herself available to give the team any clarity that might be needed by them.

“You are the cheese between the two slices of bread when you represent the community and also play the role of being the mouth of the police to the community. “Thus, you are elected to serve the needs of the entire Katlehong community, not only the sectors you come from.

“You have all received a nod and warm welcome from all four sector managers, including our Social Crime Prevention co-ordinator who is prepared to walk with you on this new journey for the next five years.

“The only common goal is to fight crime together and stand firm in mobilising more community members to do the same because this is a voluntary commitment that needs dedication and strength,” said Erasmus in his closing remarks.
