Fashion show dazzles spectators

Male and female models impressed local clothing brands during the first Katlehong Fashion Show, hosted by Sammy and Khanyi (SK) Agency at Short Twala Park near Lethukuthula High School, on April 27.

A member of Cheese Merch clothing brand, Kutlwano Tyizeka, said they spotted talented models at the fashion show that they will use in their future campaigns.

“We decided to be part of it because we’ve never been part of a fashion show of this magnitude before and it’s a groundbreaking fashion show hosted in Katlehong. We really enjoyed being part of it.

“It gives us an opportunity to showcase our newest clothing collection to our target market. They will know what kind of clothes we offer as a brand,” he expressed.

He added that the fashion show was beneficial to everyone who was involved in it.

Models came from far and wide to add to the glamour of the fashion show.

A model, Lethabo Makgale, said she was informed by a friend that SK Agency was hosting a fashion show, so she saw it as an opportunity to display her talent.

“My goal in participating in the fashion show is to get recognition from the local clothing brands and the community at large. From here I will partake in more fashion shows to boost my profile as a model.

“I loved modelling from a young age, and in my teen years I always watched America’s Next Top Model, and a lot of people always approached me, and encouraged me to be a model,” explained Makgale.

According to the co-founder of SK Agency, Samantha Khumalo, they hosted the fashion show to offer models an opportunity to showcase their talents.

“There were 18 models in total, ten girls and eight boys. As we are an upcoming agency we also scouted fashion designers, photographers, artists, make-up artists, MCs and models at this fashion show,” Khumalo stated.

She added that they will be hosting more fashion shows in the future.
