Libraries in Kathorus to open on Saturdays

The COE will open selected libraries every Saturday until November 25. It will do this for the duration of school exams to accommodate learners.

Some listed libraries in Kathorus include Spruitview, Vosloorus, Palm Ridge, Thokoza and Zonkisizwe libraries.
They will operate between 08:00 and 13:00 on Saturdays.

According to the city, this initiative will give learners and students a safe and welcoming space to study and provide them with resources and materials that might not be readily available or affordable.

“This will go a long way in ensuring library patrons have study spaces conducive for successful examination preparations,” the city’s spokesman, Zweli Dlamini, said.

The CoE wishes all its residents well as they prepare for their exams.

Dlamini said due to overtime issues and the unavailability of funds to pay staff overtime, certain libraries will only operate on one Saturday a month.

Libraries are open Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday from 08:30 to 16:30.
