EMPD apprehends hijacking suspects in Katlehong
They recovered hijacked vehicles and arrested suspects.
The EMPD Community Liaison Unit (CLU) arrested two hijacking suspects in Katlehong on September 18 between 14:00 and 23:00.
Following an investigation into hijackings in the area, officers received a tip-off on the whereabouts of one suspect involved in this crime.
The officers went to the Buyafuthi Hostel in Katlehong, where they found a man in possession of a reported hijacked white Toyota minibus, which had already been stripped.
The suspect was cooperative and voluntarily showed the officers the whereabouts of his accomplice, who had a reported stolen white Toyota Legend pickup in his possession.
The two suspects are facing charges of possession of stolen property and will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
