Katlehong man found dead, girlfriend arrested

A 32-year-old female was arrested on charges of murder after someone found her boyfriend’s lifeless body.

Eden Park Police detectives are investigating a case of murder after the body of a 26-year-old African male was found at his residence on Sausage Street, Greenfields, Katlehong, on November 4.

The finding was reported to the police by a friend who was with the victim earlier.

According to Ekurhuleni police spokesperson Captain Nelda Sekgobela, upon arrival, the deceased lay face-up on the floor and was covered with a maroon jersey.

He had sustained several visible knife wounds to the arms and middle back. He wore nothing other than black socks.

Police found the murder weapon (knife) at the scene and booked it as evidence.

“The complainant alleged he last saw his friend alive with his 32-year-old girlfriend before finding his naked and lifeless body behind the door of the room,” said Sekhobela.

She said all the role players were summoned to the scene, and a 32-year-old female suspect known as the deceased’s girlfriend was arrested.

The suspect appeared at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on November 6.

She is in police custody at Johannesburg Correctional Centre (commonly referred to as Sun City).
