Stakeholders raise awareness about GBV

Numerous interested parties led a gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and awareness campaign to curb the scourge of GBV and spread love to those in need.

To curb the scourge of gender-based violence, different stakeholders braved the cold to lead a victim empowerment event in Eden Park.

To give back to the community while raising much-needed awareness, the different entities were all hands on deck in providing warm meals and giving awareness talks.

At least 100 residents received preloved clothing and warm meals as winter sets in.

Attendees were taught more about gender-based violence and how not to become victims by raising their voices and reporting such incidents.

The campaign saw Eden Park SAPS, the City of Ekurhuleni’s social workers, I-Matter, Ekupholeni Mental Health and Trauma Centre, Da Champ Security, and Brigadiers join hands to empower locals.

Eden Park Vispol commander Captain Vusi Majubana, manager of Sector One and Two Sergeant Sello Masola, and Crime Intelligence commander Constable Megan Mongwe were also part of the campaign.
