Join the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) as they discuss an important topic of coping with the mental effects of living with chronic illness on May 5 on their Facebook page.

Chronic illnesses such as cancer, heart disease or diabetes may increase the risk of developing a mental health issue.

Receiving a diagnosis of a chronic illness can be life-altering. Along with the day-to-day physical symptoms of the illness, emotions such as sadness, grief, anxiety and depression, as well as an added financial burden, can follow a diagnosis.

Living with a chronic illness can impact your mental health, and it is important to get help, support and treatment to help you cope and feel less alone.

The discussion will start at 13:00 and they will be joined by experts Dr Prudence Molete (psychiatrist) and two support group leaders, Vanathi Knight and Clarissa Mantle.
