Metro launches podcast

Ekurhuleni is moving with the times and hopes the podcast will help to build and maintain relationships with its communities.

The City of Ekurhuleni launched its podcast, a new communication platform aptly named EkuPodcast.

With a rise in the popularity of podcasts, it is only fitting for the city to move into this space to reach audiences.

“The City of Ekurhuleni strives to be on the cutting edge of digital communication, leading the pack by becoming one of the first metros to create its own podcast,” said city spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

“In addition to being a convenient, portable, and intimate means of delivering and producing content, podcasts are also a good way to build and maintain relationships with communities, addressing issues faced by residents an episode at a time.

“We hope our residents will appreciate this innovation and actively follow us as we try and interact with them on the various available digital and non-digital platforms.”

The podcast was launched on the city’s official website – www.ekurhuleni.gov.za

Executive Mayor Tania Campbell, joined by MMC for Finance, Economic Development and ICT Fanyana Nkosi, talked about everything My CoE App, including the new feature for capturing meter readings.
