Haksul Muziq nominated for Metro FM and SAMA29 awards

Haksul Muziq has killed two birds with one stone after releasing an EP late last year titled Imali as he is nominated for Metro FM and SAMA29 awards for the same song.

Local star, Haksul Muziq, has yet again been nominated by Metro FM 2023 and SAMA29 awards.

The nominations come after the Palmridge star, who won artist of the year at the South African Music Awards 2022, released a popular song titled Imali (money) the previous year.

Tokoloho Mavuso, better known by his stage name Haksul Muziq, said that becoming the winner inspired him to pursue music exclusively as a career for the rest of his life. He has significantly improved his process for writing new tunes and this serves as the reason why he is nominated again.

The local star is nominated for the best music video and best new artist of the year in both awards for Imali EP.

“I have been associated with many projects since winning the award. I am set to release another banger named Imizamo (efforts) to celebrate my birthday. It features Musiqalxein and Felicity. I have learnt to celebrate my successes because this somehow teaches the young generation that no matter how small it is, it means a lot to oneself. After all, you are one step forward from yesterday,” Muziq said.

Haksul Muziq and the TV presenter, Jub Jub, will be celebrating his birthday in style by officially opening a Pub and Grill restaurant at 4491 Pongola Street, Palmridge, Ext 3, on April 1.

Well-known artists will also join the celebration including Aubrey Qwana, Bassie, Ntokzin, SK Khoza, Moscow on Keys, Mduva Tech, Skwakwa, 808 DJs and Deepkronik.

“I am extremely happy to be nominated for these awards and I am willing to continue giving good music to my listeners. I will continue to be of aid to the less fortunate children in public schools to bring back their confidence in class and unleash their potential,” the star affirmed.

The star has been active in music his entire life. He was already singing and playing the drums at the age of seven.

He decided to become a DJ when he was 16 years old because he felt that music was dominating him.

“The upcoming EP is not all that dissimilar from the ones I previously completed. I want people to relate to my story through my music because most of my songs are based on my true life story. I wish everyone can take it from my music message that no matter what circumstances they may be facing, life will change for the better,” the musician said.

Haksul Muziq requests the community to keep supporting his music as he’s committed to changing the neighbourhood for the better.
