Rand Water has been recently facing a crisis of servicing water to locals, the water levels have stabilised and risen by 30% but residents are still asked to use water wisely.

Reservoir levels in Rand Water systems have stabilised and risen from 30% to above 60%, following the recent rainfall.

Rand Water and the three metros have worked together to strengthen the systems.

According to the spokesperson of Rand Water, Makenosi Maroo, the water restrictions will be lifted by Rand Water immediately.

A concept has been decided upon in conjunction with the metros to ensure that the optimum water management techniques are maintained to keep the systems stable over the next hot months.

“Through these collaborative efforts, the metros have managed to reduce consumption and manage their systems effectively and efficiently. Therefore, reduced consumption and leak repairs will be the new order,” said Makenosi.

Rand Water expressed its gratitude to the three metros and residents for their cooperation during this period and expresses the hope that this is a watershed moment that will result in a permanent culture of wise usage of potable water.
