Ex-cop bids farewell after serving for 31 years

Alberton SAPS former officer bid farewell on August 31 after dedicating years in the force.

Retired Warrant Officer Malose Andries Sefoko, will always be remembered by his former colleagues at Alberton SAPS for going beyond the call of duty.

The 58-year-old bid farewell to his colleagues on August 31 after being in the force for 31 years.

Like many other officers, Sefoko started as a constable and worked his way up.

He said he started serving at Germiston SAPS in 1991, and three years later he was then transferred to Elsburg SAPS.

“In 1995, I was transferred back to Germiston SAPS and worked there until 1997 before being transferred to Alberton SAPS. As part of my duties, I attended to complaints. After serving for all these years I decided to retire and make way for new members who are looking at joining the force,” Sefoko said.

Before joining Alberton SAPS, he worked alongside Alberton SAPS’ Captain Manare Ramotshela in the early 90s when stationed in Germiston.

Sefoko, known to many as a principled officer, described the many years he served as a public servant as the best years of his life.
