The Executive Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni Tania Campbell received an award for leadership excellence and a clean audit at the South African Local Government Association’s Women Municipal Leadership Excellence Awards.
The event was held on August 25 at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre.
The awards recognise women’s leadership excellence and celebrate women leaders who have achieved clean audits in terms of the Auditor General Municipal Finance Management Act.
The City of Ekurhuleni is one of the 15 female-led municipalities awarded a clean audit.
“I am honoured to be among the female mayors recognised for their bit towards improving the lives of our people. It would be remiss of me if I do not sound my heartfelt appreciation to the city manager, Dr Imogen Mashazi, who is also a female leader in our municipality and all members of the council for working side by side with me in ensuring good governance in the city,” said Campbell.
