Uncle Baboo mentioned that through the mercy of our Creator and the generosity of their sponsors, Uncle Baboo and Crew had a busy day on July 23 serving the community.
From the crack of dawn Uncle Baboo and Crew started up fires to cook five dhegs of mutton akhni, two of them given to a funeral home in Bosmont.
The remaining three dhegs were taken to the East Rand, starting with Vosloorus Masjid. Next was Spruitview Islamic Centre and then Phumula Masjid in Mapleton, Boksburg.
“The elderly and children loved being served a warm meal with cold drinks. The food had so much Barakah (blessings) that we could still go to Klein Dorpies to feed the residents of the informal settlement. We even had enough to give all the car guards in the area.
“A special thank you to all volunteers, Baboo’s Crew and our generous sponsors for making our distributions possible,” he said.
