Brackendowns Mandrax manufacturer pleads guilty

Accused Thulani Mtotoba is expected to reappear soon in court to formulate a statement for the charges leveled against him.

Alleged Mandrax manufacturer Thulani Mtotoba reappeared on July 8 at Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where he pleaded guilty to charges levelled against him.

His matter was then postponed to July 20 for his defence attorney to formulate a statement before the court.

Mtotoba’s matter was previously adjourned for plea and trial, however, he had since applied for legal aid representation amid his attorney’s failure to appear in court numerous times.

He faces charges of dealing and manufacturing drugs. During his appearance, the 51-year-old pleaded guilty on both counts.

The State revealed that he unlawfully manufactured and dealt with an undesirable dependence-producing substance.

The accused was nabbed on what was believed to be a Mandrax manufacturing facility in his Brackendowns home back in September 2019.
