La Liga FC victorious in first league clash

“This is the first time my players compete in the league so they were very nervous, especially in the first half.”

La Liga FC punished Villa 1-0 while playing away in the U17 Vosloorus Local Football Association junior league fixture at Lesedi Shopping Centre sports grounds on June 16.

The match took a while to gain momentum with both sides testing each other’s strength on the pitch.
La Liga FC player Katlego Tseleli registered the match’s first and only goal, leaving the home side desperate for an equalizer.

Although the home side FC Villa lost the three points the head coach Gabisi Phatedi suggested it wasn’t a tough game.

“We just couldn’t score any goals. We also need to work on our defence.

“There is still a lot to do because I am also new in the team. We have to find a combination of players that work well,” said Phatedi.

Neo Lithuli, head of La Liga FC, said they are pleased with the outcome of the match.

“This is the first time my players competed in the league so they were quite nervous, especially in the first half.

“I had to speak to them during the halftime break to motivate them to be confident in their abilities,” said Lithuli.
