WATCH: Thokoza young couple melts Alberton shoppers’ hearts

A video, which has made waves on social media platforms has touched the hearts of many after a couple confessed their love to each other.

Alberton City Shopping Centre almost came to a standstill when Tumelo Majoro expressed his affection and asked for his partner’s hand in marriage on June 4.

After being together for exactly a year, the young couple Tumelo (29) and Amanda Zondo (23) have decided they want to tie the knot.

What was supposed to be a mere shopping spree turned out to be a surprise marriage proposal which was accompanied by cheering and applause from excited shoppers.

Tumelo told the Alberton RECORD they first met at church and at first sight, he knew she was the one.

“I saw her kindness, her character and her heart. So I felt it was time to now make her mine. I wanted to show the whole world how much I love her. I went to the centre, where I got to speak to Lenita, who understood my vision and permitted me to use their space,” he said.

He kept it a secret and then popped the big question and she said yes.

Alberton City Shopping Centre’s marketing manager, Lenita Camacho said she got in touch with Tumelo to see how she could make his proposal extra special.

“I approached Cinderella’s Closet at Alberton City Shopping Centre, who recently opened at the centre, specialising in wedding, bridesmaids and evening dresses. Cindy Johnson from Cinderella’s Closet was so excited about this proposal and gladly came on board and sponsored their wedding outfits for their big day,” she said.

Once Tumelo had proposed to Amanda, they were both surprised with vouchers from Cinderella’s Closet.
Centre manager Amy Yelliah said they were honoured to be a part of this special moment in Tumelo and Amanda’s lives.

“Alberton City Shopping Centre is happy to connect with its community on such a personal level. And we hope to be involved in this journey with Tumelo and Amanda Zondo going forward as they start their wedding preparations,” she said.
