Two arrested for fake medical certificates

The two were processed by the Germiston SAPS and charged with fraud and being in contravention of Section 39(1)(a) of the Health Professions Act (Act 56 of 1974).

Two suspects were arrested for selling fraudulent medical certificates to members of the public in Germiston.

The arrests follow a special operation conducted by the Health Professions Council of South Africa’s Inspectorate Office along with the Ekurhuleni East Organised Crime Unit, the Flying Squad and the Community Active Security last week.

During the operation, the team discovered that the suspects were not only selling fraudulent medical certificates but doing so under fake names.

They were processed by the Germiston SAPS and charged with fraud and being in contravention of Section 39(1)(a) of the Health Professions Act (Act 56 of 1974).

They are both expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
