Have your say on the City’s budget

The City of Ekurhuleni calls on everyone to comment on the draft reviewed Integrated Development Plan and Multiyear budget.

The City of Ekurhuleni calls on all its residents, property owners and business communities to comment on the City’s draft 2022/23 reviewed Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and 2022/23– 2024/25 Multiyear Budget.

This is a detailed plan of how the City plans to spend its funds in line with its objectives, needs and priorities.

It is based on the Growth and Development Plan 2055 – which is the City’s long-term plan. It is broken up into shorter-term goals, the IDP, which is a process where municipalities prepare a strategic development plan that covers five years.

It includes planning, budgeting, resource allocation and decision-making processes in the municipality, as well as the public participation process in which the public is consulted and asked to comment on the proposed plans of the City.

The public consultations include public meetings that will be held from April 5 to 24.

Residents can visit all public libraries, customer care centres and the City’s website to view the draft IDP and budget that includes the tariff structure.

All comments and inputs on the draft IDP and budget must be emailed to budgettips@ekurhuleni.gov.za, and the closing date for these comments is April 29.

All enquiries on the draft IDP and budget must be forwarded to sam.kgatla@ekurhuleni.gov.za or katlego.mokwena@ekurhuleni.gov.za
