The first inaugural SADTU matric excellence awards in pictures

Alafang Secondary School received a certificate of excellence and a mini trophy for obtaining 91.9% in the 2021 matric exams.

These photographs were taken during the first inaugural matric excellence awards held by SADTU at Ntuthuko Primary School located in Twala Section, Katlehong, on February 24.

The event was attended by the Katlehong North branch SADTU members and executives, including chairperson Khaya Singaba, secretary Ray Segonyane and deputy secretary Jafta Moetapele.

The guests included Steve Mabona, who attended on behalf of Busisiwe Luthuli (the director of basic education in the Ekurhuleni district), Risuna Nkunna from the South African Council of Educators, principals and educators from various schools.

The principal of Mpilisweni Secondary School and Katlehong North SADTU chairperson Khaya Sinqaba received a certificate of excellence. The school recorded a 96,8 per cent matric pass rate.
