WATCH: One more suspect in The Hill shoot-out arrested in Thembisa

Criminals need to make a decision, hand yourself in or we will come and fetch you - Lt-Gen Elias Mawela.

Provincial police commissioner Lt-Gen Elias Mawela confirmed that one more suspect in The Hill shoot-out was arrested in Thembisa on February 23.

The suspect was in possession of pistols, rifles, ammunition, jammer and police uniform on February 23.

He said the net is closing.

“It is up to all the criminals in Gauteng to make a decision – either they stop what they are doing or they will be forced to stop.

“Those who have committed a crime like this one, it’s either they hand themselves in or we will come to fetch them.

All credit goes to our integrated teams including the chief of EMPD Jabulani Mapiyeye and JMPD Angie Mokasi, also the law enforcement members who have done their job.

“It is the continuation of what happened on Monday, they followed through the information and it landed them in Tembisa. Our biggest concern is the police uniform,” he said.

He said the suspect is linked to those 25 suspects who committed crime at The Hill. And as of February 24, the number of suspects arrested is 11.
