Hlebela’s former clients left with nothing but regrets

The Shekeshe family is not the only affected family from Vosloorus, the members of POM also suffered the same fate.

Families who took a funeral cover with Hlebela Funeral Parlour (HFP) are left with nothing but regrets.

After years of insuring with the funeral parlour, Gloria Shekeshe, along with members of a society group called Peace of Mind (POM), have nothing to show for it.

This follows the funeral parlour’s failure to pay claims and communicate with clients, as the company was going through challenges, which according to the owner, were brought by Covid-19.

Shekeshe lodged her claim on July 2021 before she defaulted her premiums. She did so after her claim was not paid following the death of her late adopted sister in July.

The Shekeshe family is not the only affected family from Vosloorus, the members of POM also suffered the same fate.

Although not everyone in the group had claimed or had pending claims, they became concerned when they first saw Shekeshe on the front page of Kathorus MAIL raising her concerns about non-payment and lack of communication.

During our last conversation, off the record with the owner of HFP Boyboy Hlebela, he assured Kathorus MAIL that he will arrange to meet with the Shekeshe family and that their claim will be paid.

When we followed up with the family a week ago, we found that no form of communication was made with the family.

Hlebela said he has not communicated with the family since the matter is at FSCA; therefore, he has no right to communicate with them.

“All correspondence is via FSCA, they are working to resolve the matter and the family will be paid,” said Hlebela.
