Alberton SAPS has confiscated two cars that were recently recovered and taken to police storage for safekeeping.
Both cars are reported to have been hijacked from their owners.
Capt Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS urged lawful owners to check with Benoni police storage for their lost cars.
“We have very friendly members of the SAPS to assist you while you claim your hijacked car from the police. Don’t forget that SAPS is there for you and will always be by your side,” he said.
The hijacked vehicles are a VW Golf seven as well as a silver Hyundai H1.
Ramotshela reiterated that should one know of such an incident, they should inform Alberton SAPS or the victim.
“Police are waiting to assist the victims to get their motor vehicles back. We thank all those who made the recovery possible,” he said.
