Police are looking for the killers travelling in a Toyota Quantum taxi after a person was murdered in Vosloorus.
According to Vosloorus SAPS deputy communications officer Nompumelelo Nhlapo, lately, a group of people travelling in a Toyota Quantum are targeting shebeens and taverns by randomly shooting patrons.
Nhlapo confirmed Vosloorus SAPS is investigating a murder where a person was shot and killed in one of the incidents.
“The motive is unknown at this stage, but police are appealing to the community to come forward with information that can lead to the arrest of the perpetrators,” she said.
She said it is also evident that liquor outlets violate curfew hours as stipulated in the disaster management regulations.
“Law enforcement will start visiting liquor outlets to enforce the law by arresting all perpetrators,” said Nhlapo.
Vosloorus SAPS is appealing to the community to join the Vosloorus CPF and assist SAPS with information to combat and solve crime in their area.
“Without the involvement of the community, crime will continue to be a problem in the community of Vosloorus,” she concluded.
