Thokoza CPF introduces new executive
Thokoza CPF officially welcomes new executives and additional members.
The new CPF was elected on October 30, as the term for the previous members concluded.
The new executive members include Moeketsi Motaung (chairperson), Moses Mofokeng (deputy chairperson), Nthabiseng Mavuso (secretary), Mabaso Williams (deputy secretary) and Willington Methula (treasurer).
The additional member are Bhekani and Mbali Zulu, Thandeka and Jabu Melunyelwa and Alphafia Letele.
Motaung said as they availed themselves, they know there are challenges and that it is not an easy task.
“But as a team, we commit to making a contribution to the community of Thokoza in terms of cases that are reported whereby a person felt like they were not assisted. We work with the police, as we are not police officers,” said Motaung.
He said the first thing they have to do is meet with stakeholders and people on the ground to make them aware of the CPF’s role.
“Without the community, we cannot win the war against crime, the community is important to CPF so we can deal with existing challenges,” he said.
Motaung said crime stats change from time to time, so they hold weekly meetings where the stats are shared.
He said at the moment, crime is rampant in sector one.
“We want to form a communication bridge between us, the community and the police.”
