EWC students demonstrate at Katlehong North SAPS

Ekurhuleni West College students along with community members march against gender-based violence (GBV) at Katlehong North SAPS, on November 12.

The march follows the death of Mbali Hlongwane, a 20-year-old IT student, she was stabbed and killed by a fellow student at EWC, after she qualified to write all her modules, towards the end of October.

The student are demanding answers from police after weeks passed without any arrested suspect or efforts to update the family.

They questioned where the police IT department is, citing that the suspect is posting on social media.

The uncle of the diseased and a community member went to engage with the police.
