DJ and music producer C’Buda M returns to the airwaves this year following the release of his latest offering titled Will You Be Mine.
On his latest single, Vosloorus-born producer Sibusiso Mnyakeni, known to many as C’Buda, worked with Sdida & DJ Stoks, Tee Jay, Superstar MD le sax featuring songstress Boohle.
The song is about a moment of tension between two people who are attracted to each other. In the song, vocalist Boohle advises that slowly but surely, the couple’s love interests will link together.
Sound description
It starts sonically in the style of signature amapiano with the percussion and log drum.
The introduction of the saxophone after the first break marks the actual beginning of the song as the arrangement is inspired by the deep house to give a listener a clear musical experience.
Moreover, the solos from the saxophone become a motif that is used continuously throughout.
Vocally, the musicians deliver a soulful rendition with layered harmonies and atmospheric singing which is arranged through a call and response treatment.
Artist background
For those with an ear for music, his experience in production is visible and good sounding to the ear.
According to C’Buda, he started exploring his love for music in Grade Five during free periods, as he would beatbox while imagining a crowd chanting his name.
Things took off when he was introduced to a music production software called Fruity Loops Studio.
He said with help from his friend Dokotela Chuku, it took him few days to grasp the basics and navigate the software.
“It took me a few days to compose my music. In 2011 I started DJing and playing my music with other producers’ music,” said C’Buda.
He has shared the stage with other artists like Infinity boys, Mzambiya, Mampinstha, Busiswa and Moonchild, among others.
