Mmino Wa Clap N Tap Awards postponed

The postponement follows a request to consider hosting the event in a venue instead of a virtual ceremony.

The seventh Mmino Wa Clap N Tap Awards 2021 (MWCNT) virtual ceremony, which was set to take place on October 9 at 20:00, was postponed.

The new date will be announced by the organisers soon.

The postponement follows a request to consider hosting the event in a venue instead of a virtual ceremony as the country is now under alert level one.

The chairperson of MWCNT, Moses Gama, said they are engaging with their host, Emperors Palace, as their usual June date has passed.

He said they hope to find available space as there might be an opening in November or the first week of December.

“While discussions are ongoing, we trust amazing prizes shall be approved by potential sponsors. We are also engaging for a live broadcast with a broadcaster. All shall be revealed soon.

“We humbly apologise for the inconvenience that might have been caused by the postponement of the event,” said Gama.

The MWCNT Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the Clap N Tap music genre within the indigenous gospel music of southern Africa and those practising the music in other parts of the SADAC regions.
