WATCH: Siluma Shutdown a success despite gloomy weather

“We are looking at getting a bigger venue to host more people in the future.”

The event organiser and founder of Siluma Shutdown, Xolani Machele, said despite the rainy weather, the event was successful even though there was room for improvement.

“This was the best event we have ever done, especially when we look at the previous events and where we are coming from. We sold out on all tickets we listed online,” said Machele.

“On the day of the event around 15:00, the venue was already packed because the weather opened up at around 14:45,” he said.

“We are looking at getting a bigger venue to host more people in the future because a smaller venue presents a challenge as crowd density leads to stampedes,” Machele explained.

He said people can expect more as they are planning bigger events with different artists.

He thanked the people who attended the event for their support and love.
