Fun meets art in Turffontein

One of the Active Youngins Foundation programmes will focus on heritage.

South Side Market, where fun will meet art, is set to be an exciting feat at Aretas Bar and Restaurant, 69 Turf Club Street, Turffontein, on September 25 from 12:00 until late.

Active Youngins Foundation (AYF) is partnering with New Breed Empire Agency, award-winning Ayanda Films, VMC Planet Online Radio, Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Kaleni, Aretas Bar and Restaurant, Department of Social Development, Sanca, and many more stakeholders to bring you this eventful day.

This partnership is aimed to deliver a concept called South Side Market (Fun Meets Art) under the theme of Heritage.

Event organiser Jimmy Ntuli said models will battling on the runway with specifically heritage attire of local produced clothing.

“We further invite all young local businesses who produced local goods to showcase their work. There will be a whole lot more activities on the day, including performances.

“As AYF we bring programmes which tackle social ills for the youth free of charge, we say the theme is strictly embracing your culture, as my culture is your culture.

“There will be a red carpet experience, no mask no entry policy remains and all Covid-19 protocol will be observed.

“We have guest speakers who will be announcing and unpacking the importance of heritage. New Breed Empire Agency will be bringing their models to compete with us on the runway,” explained Jimmy.

This will also be the last day of signing up entries to Miss Rosettenville 2021 Season 2.0 the Bigger the Better.
