Domestic worker sentenced for Glenvista house robbery

Eni Terecia Ndimande (65) was sentenced to 15 years of direct imprisonment.

The station commander at Mondeor SAPS welcomed the conviction and sentencing of Eni Terecia Ndimande (65) by the Booysens Magistrate’s Court.

This follows a house robbery that was committed in Groenewald Street, Glenvista on January 26.

Ndamande was sentenced to 15 years direct imprisonment.

On the day at about 11:30, the owner of the house went out to buy groceries for his domestic worker and her son. When he returned home he was approached by two males, one with a crowbar and the pointed a firearm at him.

The suspects ransacked the house taking television sets, electronic appliances and an undisclosed amount of cash.
A firearm was also taken during the robbery. The suspects fled with the domestic worker.

Through the dedication of the Mondeor police task team, the investigation led to the arrest of the domestic worker who later confessed about her involvement in the crime.

Mondeor SAPS station commander Col JJ Bezuidenhoudt commended the investigating officer Sgt Oliphant on his hard work and dedication to ensure that justice is served.
