Alberton SAPS busts fraudsters

Alberton SAPS successfully nabbed four suspects for committing fraud in the Springs policing precinct on August 20.

Alberton SAPS arrested a woman and three male suspects for alleged fraud and impersonating police officers on August 20.

In partnership with other law enforcers, Alberton SAPS managed to detain the suspects who are suspected of committing a crime in Springs.

During their arrest, they were found driving a hired motor vehicle believed to have been hired by one of the car hire companies in the province.

According to Capt Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS, the suspects were charged for fraud committed in Springs’ policing precinct as well as impersonating police officers and were taken to Springs SAPS.

Ramotshela said criminals must not take chances and that they will be brought to book.

“We are well equipped and have more members on our streets. The Alberton SAPS management thanked all those who made it possible and their efforts to make these arrests and prevented other crimes of this nature from occurring. People will be safe,” he said.

Community members are advised to visit their nearest police stations if they have witnessed any crimes.
