The man, who is dating the girl’s mother, reported to the mother her child was sick at home.
Upon her arrival at home, the boyfriend showed the mother her daughter was asleep before leaving the residence.
On her way to the clinic with her daughter, the mother saw her boyfriend walking. He then accompanied them to the clinic.
The girl was declared dead on their arrival at the clinic.
It was discovered the child had several bruises on her body which suggested she was assaulted.
The boyfriend could not explain what happened to the child and upon further investigation, it was suspected the child was also assaulted sexually.
He was then immediately apprehended by staff members, who called the police.
The man was arrested by members of Duduza SAPS and faces a charge of murder.
