WATCH: Pair hijacked, taken hostage in Boksburg

The pair was later dumped in Tsakani Extension 22.

Police are looking for five armed men who hijacked a car and kidnapped two men from a residential property on William Street in Beyers Park.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson, Const Justice Ramaube, the incident took place just before 20:00 on June 5, as the victim’s blue BMW was reversing out of the property.

Grainy CCTV footage shared online shows two of the criminals carrying out their crime:

The driver told police he drove to the property to drop off a fellow church member, but moments after the man had exited the BMW, the hijackers entered the property and approached the victims.

In the process, they forced the driver out of the car and took the pair’s money and two cellphones at gunpoint. Thereupon, the driver and the passenger were forced back into the car, before it exited the property and sped off.

The pair was later dumped in Tsakani Extension 22, and they reported the case the following day.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported. The gang was seen driving a Volkswagen Touareg.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them on 011 675 6986.

They encourage residents to report any criminal activity as it happens if possible or immediately after, as this helps them to track down the perpetrators immediately when or after the crime has been committed.
