SAPS and CPF engage with Katlehong residents about crime

Different speakers from the community spoke about crime and how they will assist the police in fighting crime.

The community of Nhlapo section, Katlehong SAPS and CPF held a public meeting on April 22 to address the community about crime and xenophobia at Hlatshwayo sports grounds.

The Katlehong SAPS station commander, Col Raymond Buthelezi, acting Vispol head Lesetja Mathobela, social crime prevention’s Sgt Motaung and CPF chairperson Auto Sebeko attended the meeting.

The community was addressed on how to report cases and follow up on drugs, alcohol abuse, domestic violence and GBV cases.

They pleaded with the community to stay away from criminal activities and informed residents to refrain from buying stolen goods.

Buthelezi thanked the community for informing police about burglaries, theft and hijacking cases.

He also informed the community about the available services for victims at the station, including the Victim Empowerment Centre.
