Khuthazekani NPO spoils elderly citizens

Lady Johen and Alice Simango Madlala reminded senior citizen that they are appreciated as they spoiled with a two days special treat, at Vosloorus.

Khuthazekani NPO, in partnership with Lady Johen of Reakgona Mo Tsomv Org, hosted a special event for the senior resident at Paradise Park in Extension 13, Vosloorus.

The senior citizens enjoyed a free head-to-toe treat, as they received a hair treatment, body massage, manicure and pedicure. They were also spoiled with breakfast and lunch.

Fikile Nkoane (64) from Vosloorus, who also attended the event, said days such as this are great for senior citizens, especially after the long lockdown that required all elderly people to stay indoors. She said it was great to go out to meet with other senior residents and socialise.

“The pampering was out of this world. At our age we are always tired not knowing what is wrong with you, so the massage just brought life back to me and I am active again,” said Nkoane.

“I thought people forgot about us because we are old, but at least someone still cares about us. I feel loved and I know that I am not neglected.”

The founder of the NPO, Alice Madlala, said putting smiles on senior citizens’ faces is a blessing for her.

“The joy and appreciation they show mean a lot to me and days like this make a huge difference in their lives, especially during this trying time of Covid-19,” she added.

Madlala said there are more events they are planning to host for elderly citizens.

Her wish is to take them on a vacation to one of the resorts in Mpumalanga or to a Bela Bela resort. She thanked everyone who contributed to making the event possible.
