Planned water supply interruption

Alrode South, Thinasonke, Eden Park, Thokoza Gardens and Leopards Rest are affected.

The City of Ekurhuleni assures residents that it is aware of the ongoing water supply interruption resulting in low pressure to no water in parts of Alberton.

According to CoE’s spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, water technical teams are on-site conducting repairs on the PVC pipeline, which has been damaged.

The expected time for restoration of the water supply is 3pm this afternoon, April 21.

“Affected areas include Alrode South, Thinasonke, Edenpark, Thokoza Gardens and Leopards Rest. Roving water tankers have been dispatched to assist customers that experience no water during this time. The City of Ekurhuleni wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused,” he said.

He also reiterated that their employees are not on strike and have not raised any grievances.

“Therefore, the City of Ekurhuleni will continue to provide water and other basic services as expected without any interruption. Where we experience service interruptions, we will communicate to the public promptly,” said Dlamini.
